The popstar was encouraged to release the track by Boyzone's Keith Duffy after the pair worked together on Irish talent show You're A Star.
Heaton is releasing the track as a charity single, with all the money raised going to Irish Autism Action. Duffy is an ambassador of the charity.
Speaking about her first solo release, Heaton told The Mirror: "I'm very nervous as I have never sung solo. I've only ever recorded with the rest of Liberty X.
"But Keith has a lot of faith in me and I'm not going to let him down. I'll be releasing the song in aid of Irish Autism Action which is a cause close to Keith's heart."
Duffy commented: "It's not a song that you would cover unless it was for charity as it is very new.
"But the lyrics lend themselves really well to highlighting the ongoing problems and the struggles that families with autistic kids face."
'Talk', which is on Coldplay's album X & Y, was a top ten hit in 2005.
