Braxton to return to stage next month

Toni Braxton will resume her Las Vegas show on May 6 after cancelling performances due to a mystery illness.

The R&B singer was hospitalised with chest pains last Monday and forced to pull out of the following night's appearance at the Flamingo Las Vegas hotel.

She then scrapped all last week's performances of her show 'Toni Braxton: Revealed', which has been running since August 2006.

She was expected to take to the stage today, but it has now emerged that she will take advantage of a previously-planned two-week break and rest for the remainder of this month.

The nature of her illness has not been revealed but she has previously been treated for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.

Braxton spoke out to deny reports that she was suffering from breast cancer last year.
