The Strokes bass player Nikolai Fraiture has revealed that work will soon begin on their new album.
Writing on the group's official site, he said: "I'd like to say that I'm still looking very forward to a fourth album release.
"We just need to work out a few technical kinks."
The Strokes' last LP, First Impressions Of Earth, was released in January 2006 and featured the singles 'Juicebox' and 'Heat in a Cage'.
Fraiture added that the long break was needed for The Strokes to "remain together as a productive band".
Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr's solo record, Como Te Llama, will be released this June.
