Speaking to NME ahead of their performance at California's Coachella Festival, McCabe said: "It's the best thing we've ever done."
McCabe added that the record shares similarities with their last album, 1997's Urban Hymns.
The new untitled LP is due for release in August.
The Verve split up in 1999, with lead singer Richard Ashcroft embarking on a solo career. They reformed last year for an arena tour.
The indie group will headline the Pyramid Stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
