The Fratellis bass player Barry Wallace has admitted that he would prefer The Verve to headline Glastonbury over Kings of Leon.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Wallace said: "Someone said I didn't like the Kings of Leon - I actually love them, but I just don't think they should be headlining. Not to say I think we should be headlining, but I don't think the headline acts this year are too good to be honest."

Wallace added that recently reformed indie group The Verve would be an ideal headliner for the Pyramid Stage.

"The Verve, I f***ing love, they'll go down a storm," Wallace said. "It's crazy that they're back and to this level already. Maybe next year they should come back and they'll be headlining."

The new Fratellis album Here We Stand is scheduled for release on June 9.
