Vocalist Brandon Flowers has revealed that the band are recording tracks in their native Las Vegas while producer Stuart Price works on them in London.
"We do the demos and send them to Stuart over the internet. Then he calls back and we talk about it," Flowers said.
He added that the new record, a follow-up to 2006's Sam's Town, is progressing slowly.
"At the moment it's sounding like four guys standing around in various living rooms getting ideas together," he said. "When you're making music anything can seep in, but so far we haven't got a concept to hang the new album on."
Flowers admitted that he had high hopes for a track titled 'Tidal Wave', which he describes as "a pop song in the vein of 'Drive-In Saturday' by David Bowie and 'I Drove All Night' by Roy Orbison".
