The official website for producer Markus Dravs revealed that his next project would be "with Arcade Fire on a soundtrack for the forthcoming Richard Kelly film".
Kelly had earlier teased about the Montreal group's involvement in the movie, posting on his MySpace page that he had started to "work with a very famous band who is honouring us with being the first filmmakers they've ever scored a film with".
The Box, based on Richard Matheson's Button, Button short story, focuses on a married couple (Cameron Diaz, James Marsden) who receive a wooden box that will promise them $1 million if they press its button. However, doing so will result in the death of someone they don't know.
Kelly's previous film, Southland Tales, was scored by Moby.
