The Hole singer, who previously worked with Perry on 2004's America's Sweetheart LP, apparently ditched the record to work with British musician Micko Larkin.
Larkin was the guitarist in the indie-folk group Larrikin Love, who split in 2007 following the release of their debut album The Freedom Spark.
The London-based rocker is rumoured to have played guitar with Love's band at her recording studio in LA.
