Jackson 'disappoints' at LA appearance

Michael Jackson has apparently disappointed fans with his brief appearance at Christian Audigier's 50th birthday party.

The veteran pop singer was handed the microphone when he took to the stage at the fashion designer's party in LA.

According to The Mirror, an audience including Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson gave Jackson a rapturous reception.

However, the 49-year-old didn't sing for the crowd and just said: "Hello. Christian is the King of Fashion."

A source commented: "Everyone went mad when he grabbed the microphone. The mood was electric.

"But sadly there was no impromptu gig. It was a shame because he looked in pretty good shape. He was obviously just putting in an appearance for his old pal Christian."
