The soul singer claimed she was surprised by the amount of controversy surrounding his position on the bill, adding that he was one of the best live acts she'd ever seen.
"It hadn't really crossed my mind that his appearance might be a problem," she told the festival's official website.
"I've seen him live and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. He had these great string arrangements and was just an amazing showman.
"It was really fun and you left feeling good. I'm completely excited about seeing him again."
Noel Gallagher criticised Jay-Z's addition to the festival bill, arguing that there was no place for hip-hop at the annual summer bash.
Glastonbury Festival takes place at Worthy Farm from June 27 to 29. Tickets are still available.
