In an interview with Q Radio, Martin explained the reasoning behind not putting their collaboration 'Lunar' on the album.
He said: "Well it's just too sexy, at this point we cannot be that sexy…"
Despite dropping the track from Viva La Vida, Martin insisted that it would eventually be heard.
"It will 100% see the light of day and I'm going to tell you exclusively that it will be on a record that we will put out at the end of next year," he said.
Martin also commented again on the furore surrounding Jay-Z's upcoming Glastonbury appearance.
"I don't even know where the controversy started," he said. "It probably started from two people on a computer who don't really know what they're talking about."
