Coldplay have scored their biggest ever hit on the US singles chart.

'Viva La Vida', the title track from the band's upcoming fourth album, climbs from ten to three on this week's Billboard Hot 100, eclipsing the number eight peak of their 2005 single 'Speed Of Sound'.

Rapper Lil Wayne remains at number one with 'Lollipop' this week, while Leona Lewis sticks at two with 'Bleeding Love'.

The only new track in the top ten comes from pop singer Katy Perry, who leaps from 21 to five with 'I Kissed A Girl'.
