In the suit filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, the band stated: "Stein used his position as a band manager to attempt to extract money for himself to the detriment of Motley Crue."
The suit also claimed that Stein's contract would "terminate" if he breached his agreement with the band.
Motley Crue previously sued their management last summer in a £10 million case. The group accused drummer Tommy Lee's manager Carl Stubner of diverting revenue and promoting Lee's solo work "to the detriment of the band".
