Kings Of Leon: 'Sex On Fire'

Kings Of Leon: 'Sex On Fire'
Released on Monday, Sep 15 2008

Kings Of Leon release their fourth album later this month, their second in successive years, and by rights the Nashville quartet should be running short on ideas by now. Their brand of whiskey-stained Southern rock can only be entertaining for so long, right? Well, actually, wrong. 'Sex On Fire' proves there's still plenty of fuel in the Followill clan's tank and more than justifies their recent leap to festival headliner status.

That new album is supposedly their most "political" to date, but unless we've missed something during the US presidential campaign this filthy romp about love acts in motor cars won't be picked up by Barack Obama any time soon. Caleb Followill's drawling yelp is at its fiery best, while the band's sizzling rhythm section is now slicker than a Justin Timberlake dance routine. The result? A truly stirring single that will be a definite highlight on their winter arena tour.
