Take That: 'Greatest Day'

Take That: 'Greatest Day'
Released on Monday, Nov 24 2008

Take That apparently wrote 'Greatest Day' as the opening number for their next arena tour - and it's certainly got the right sort of sentiment. "Today this could be the greatest day of our lives," sings Gary Barlow as the piano pounds behind him. Meanwhile, Mark, Howard and (maybe) Jason chip in with some angelic harmonies on the chorus.

It's another likable effort from pop's national treasures, with a typically impressive vocal from Barlow and lovely warm production, but the chorus fails to match those of 'Patience' and 'Rule The Word' - or even, truth be told, the ones Barlow's written for Geraldine McQueen and John Barrowman recently. They're probably best off opening with 'Shine' instead.
