Alesha Dixon: 'Breathe Slow'

By
Released on Monday, Feb 9 2009

If anyone knows how to turn it around, it's Alesha Dixon. It can't have been very comfortable seeing your divorce played out in the press as your much-touted solo career failed to ignite. Yet seemingly unaffected, Dixon danced into the nation's hearts on Strictly before chastising men across the country for failing to keep up with the household chores. Now she's back with a second single from her Alesha Show album.

While 'The Boy Does Nothing' was a danceable, samba-infused pop gem, 'Breathe Slow' is altogether more restrained, neatly showcasing a softer side to the former Mis-Teeq star. "Can't forget to breathe slow, count from one to ten with my eyes closed," she croons on this sultry slice of midtempo R&B. It may not have the instant appeal as its predecessor, but 'Breathe Slow' should be good enough to maintain Dixon's forward momentum.
