McFly: 'Party Girl'

By
McFly as superheroes
Released on Monday, Sep 6 2010

As anyone who's treated their peepers to a peek at the latest Attitude will know, the McFly boys have really buffed up since we last heard from them. What's more, in the two years since their ambitious, self-released Radio: ACTIVE project, they've given their sound a bit of a makeover too.

And how. Produced by Dallas Austin (everyone from TLC to Madonna to Sugababes), 'Party Girl' is an unstoppable post-GaGa dance-pop stomper built on a deliciously fizzy mix of synths and guitar riffs. The whopping great "woah woah" chorus is as hard to resist as an apple pie left to cool by an open window and there's a neat nod to one of the pop culture phenomena du jour: "So pull up your collar before she sinks her teeth in." Now on their fifth album, seventh year and second stint at Island - yup, they're back with the big boys - McFly sound utterly reinvigorated here. By "popping out" in such full throttle fashion, they've never rocked harder.
