'Wake Up Call', the first song from the 18-year-old's forthcoming album, will be available as a digital download.
Panetierre, who plays Claire Bennet in the NBC drama, landed a record deal before she started work on the show.
Hollywood Records' Ken Bunt told Billboard: "We had to work within her crazy schedule to determine what direction she wants to go with her music.
"'Wake Up Call' is a reggae-flavoured pop song that was written by Andreas 'Quiz' Romdhane and Josef Larossi, who have previously written tracks for Geri Halliwell, Diana Ross, Il Divo and Westlife."
The actress previously signed a deal with fashion brand Candie's, who will fund "the majority of the cost" of the song's ad campaign and video.
