Exclusive: Sinitta plots pop comeback

Sinitta has revealed that she is planning to re-launch her pop career following her exit from Dancing On Ice last night.

The 41-year-old star – full name Sinitta Malone – notched up nine UK top 40 hits during the late '80s and early '90s with tracks including 'So Macho' and 'Toy Boy', but has concentrated on TV work in recent years.

However, after being eliminated in week one of the TV skating contest, she said that she is now free to concentrate on the release of her new Greatest Hits album.

"Maybe this is God's way of saying I need to be putting all my energy into promoting this album? All my club PAs were going to be subject to my Dancing On Ice schedule, so this has really kind of released me. You know, maybe I'm supposed to come back as a singer rather than as a champion ice skater?" she told DS.

She also revealed that she is hoping to return to the studio to work on new tracks.

"I think any new material will happen through the people who want to remix some of my old classics. You know the rapper Fabolous? He wants to do something with one of my tracks," she said.

"Actually, I was having a conversation last night about going out to New York to work on the remix and video. I think the Janet Jackson hip-hop/dance thing would suit me."

Sinitta releases The Greatest Hits on January 18.
