The former X Factor star claimed that his appeal to older women could work in his favour as his career progresses.
"I think it's better that my fans are mums. If my fans were teenyboppers they'd grow out of me and move on to someone else," Roberts told Take 5 magazine. "Having mum fans gives me longevity. I won't fall out of fashion."
The singer recently confirmed that he has been signed up for a second album with Simon Cowell's SyCo record label. The decision came after he outsold his former X Factor rivals Leon Jackson and Same Difference.
"I feel for those who have gone off the radar," he explained. "I think Leon has gone back to Scotland and Same Difference might be at Butlins.
"I've spoken to them - but I wouldn't know what to say now. I couldn't tell them about all the stuff I've been doing like shows in Japan and Rome and my UK tour. That would be embarrassing."
