Nutini 'almost auditioned for Pop Idol'

The singer, who was first spotted performing at a warm-up gig for Fame Academy winner David Sneddon, claimed that reality TV now places less emphasis on fostering talent.
"I thought about going onto the first one, Pop Idol, my mum was saying, go on! But I decided not to," he told The Mirror.
"The X Factor though doesn't really seem to be a show about musical talent anymore. It's just entertainment - more like a sitcom."
