Cheryl Cole: 'I'm approachable'

Cheryl Cole has attributed her success to the fact that she is still approachable.

The singer, who is on course for a chart double this weekend, claimed that people see her as more than just a popstar and judge on The X Factor.

"I think people feel like they know me. People just talk to us like I'm from up the road. But I love it," she told the BBC.

"If you think of people like Beyoncé, they don't seem approachable. They seem like 'popstars' but I suppose with my role on The X Factor, people get to know me more as a person."

The 26-year-old, who recently admitted that she still finds it hard to trust husband Ashley Cole, insisted that she can tell whether someone is honest just by looking in their eyes.

"I really believe that about people's eyes. When I meet somebody, I look straight at their eyes, and if they're shifty I don't trust them straight away," she said.

Cole released debut solo album 3 Words on Monday.
