X Factor 2006 contestant Ben Mills has announced the release of his second record Freedom.

The singer, 30, finished third on the ITV1 reality show, losing out to Leona Lewis and Ray Quinn.

His debut Picture Of You, which featured covers of 'Maggie May' and 'With A Little Help From My Friends', charted at number three in 2007.

Mills's new album includes songwriting collaborations with Take That's Mark Owen and Paul Barry, who has worked with James Morrison.

"Freedom is my journey, my decisions and the roads I took," said Mills. "I had an idea of what I wanted my second album to sound like (warning, no autotune was used in the production of this album!) and Freedom is it! In my short but extreme experience in the music industry, that is a rare thing indeed!"

The LP, which is released on Mills's own Benjamel label, is available to buy now.
