The Irish twins said that Vickers's recent achievements prove that it is possible to sustain long-term careers after competing on The X Factor.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Edward Grimes commented: "Diana getting to number one is really encouraging. The week we got to number two with 'Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)', we nearly got to number one and any other week we might have.
"It's cool that we are no longer contestants and have launched our own sound, just like Diana. She has her own distinctive sound and it is really cool that she has done so well. It shows this is only the beginning for us."
Vickers, who took part in The X Factor a year before John & Edward, has topped the UK charts with debut album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree and single 'Once' in recent weeks.
John & Edward will release their own debut LP later this year.
