Cardle wants to launch career in America

Matt Cardle has said that he hopes to become a success in America following his X Factor victory this past weekend.

The former painter admitted that it would be his dream to launch his career Stateside after becoming known throughout the UK.

"I'd love to go to America and I'd jump at the opportunity to do that," Cardle told Metro. "Everyone's big dream is cracking America.

"James Blunt did it, Leona did it, and to be in that company would be the next dream."

Cardle's winning single 'When We Collide' is on course to become this year's Christmas number one.
