According to The Sun, the X Factor boyband recorded tracks with the Lady GaGa producer while in LA recently.
The boys were also said to be in the running to release this year's Comic Relief single in March, but Take That secured that project.
Charity bosses apparently wanted them to record a familiar song to maximise the amount of money raised, but Simon Cowell didn't want their first release to be a cover song.
Fellow X Factor star Cher Lloyd recently confirmed that she had also worked with RedOne on her debut album.
