The former X Factor contestant, who finished fourth in the 2009 series of the show, is allegedly plotting his comeback and has managed to gain the attention of several big US record labels.
"Danyl's management have got him working with decent names," a source told The Sun. "They are going to try to get him a US deal before cracking the UK.
"Some US labels have seen his first X Factor audition in promotional material for the American version and they were impressed."
Johnson is apparently working with popular songwriter Diane Warren on new material. Warren is responsible for hits such as LeAnn Rimes's 'Can't Fight The Moonlight', Toni Braxton's 'Un-Break My Heart' and Aerosmith's worldwide smash 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing'.
The reality TV star recently revealed that he has written over 50 songs for his debut album, but has yet to find a label to sign to.
