The 'Missing You' singer said that the success of her group is evidence that aspiring singers shouldn't pin all their hopes on the ITV talent show.
Healy told PA: "Me and [bandmate] Mollie [King] have auditioned in the past for shows like that and didn't get far.
"But it's proof that it's not the only way into the industry. It's a good experience but you don't have to take it so seriously."
Fellow member Rochelle Wiseman, however, added that the girl group are big X Factor fans, praising the new judging panel of Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland
"We really, really like them. I think they're a fresh team, and a fresh take on the show," Wiseman said.
Will Young, who won Pop Idol in 2002, recently argued that winning The X Factor doesn't necessarily secure a long-term singing career.
