The Goo Goo Dolls are on course to claim the number one spot with 'Iris' following its use on last weekend's The X Factor.
The song, first released by the Buffalo band in 1998, was performed by competition favourite Frankie Cocozza as he attempted to win a place at Judges' Houses.

As viewers raced to download the track, it re-entered the iTunes chart, climbing to number one on Tuesday.
However, midweek figures show that it sits at number two in the UK singles chart. DJ Sak Noel is currently in pole position with 'Loca People'.
While 'Iris' remains number one on the download store's chart, 'Loca People' is currently third. Sales up until 11:59pm on Saturday will determine this weekend's chart-topper.

Meanwhile, the Goo Goo Dolls' Greatest Hits collection has also re-entered the album download chart. The group released their ninth studio album Something For The Rest of Us last year and performed a sold-out UK tour last November.
The final charts will be announced on Sunday from 4pm on BBC Radio 1.
