Coldplay have revealed that they would never agree to perform on The X Factor.
Speaking at a press conference in Madrid today, the group insisted that they are fans of the talent show but wouldn't perform on it if they were offered.

Asked if they planned to sing with one of Gary Barlow's acts if they reached the final, Chris Martin said: "No. We all love The X Factor and we enjoy the show but we can't go on it. We do something different, and we're far too old."
Told they were all younger than judge Louis Walsh, Martin quipped: "Only by six months."
He added: "We were very behind that girl Stacey Solomon. But no, we could never appear on the show."
The band spoke in Madrid today ahead of a live show to be filmed by Control movie director Anton Corbijn in the city's Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas bullring. The gig will be available to stream online via Coldplay's official website.
The group's fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto is out now.
