The Mirror reports that the 23-year-old singer will begin writing the book in January, and launch it to coincide with the start of next year's show.

"Tulisa may only be 23 but she's had an amazingly eventful life. She has an incredible story to tell - some of which has never been written about - and it's a unique opportunity to set the record straight," an unnamed source told the newspaper.

Three major publishing houses are said to be in competition for the rights to the book, which is described as "fantastically juicy" and filled with "behind-the-scenes gossip". Contostavlos stands to make £1.2 million from the deal.

Past X Factor judges Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole have both released autobiographies in the past. Minogue scored a number one bestseller with her book Dannii: My Story.

Contostavlos led her group Little Mix to victory at the X Factor final on December 11.
