The singer appeared on the show back in November to promote her second album Ceremonials with a performance of lead single 'Shake It Out'.

However, due to a last-minute costume hitch, Welch revealed that the show was one of the most frightening experiences of her career so far.

She told the Daily Star: "Just before it went live one of the dancers' dresses got ripped and the stylist had to run on stage as they were counting down to the start.

"I had to stay really still and it was one of the most high-pressured things I've ever done. I was freaking out inside - it was so frightening."

She added: "We all talked about how much could go wrong - I'm surprised more doesn't happen with live TV performances."

The star also revealed that she is a fan of The X Factor and one of the judges in particular. She continued: "I was really excited to meet Tulisa Contostavlos - I think she's amazing."

Florence + the Machine have released 'No Light, No Light' as the second official single from Ceremonials.
