The X Factor winner appeared at Manchester's 235 venue to perform songs from the follow-up to his 2006 self-titled debut.
Speaking at the event, Ward told the Daily Star: "It was my intention to blow megabucks. I wanted to launch the album in style and make it really flash and glitzy.
"It was important I launched it in my hometown too. I always get a big welcome when I come back here."
Despite the glamorous launch, Ward claims that he didn't get involved with the Hollywood lifestyle when he recorded the album in LA.
He said: "It’s such a different way of life in LA. Really chilled and relaxing.
"I didn’t do the Hollywood party thing when I was making the album, I pretty much locked myself away in the recording studio the whole time."
