Courteeners proud of Corrie reference
Published Wednesday, Aug 6 2008, 06:20 BST | By Alex Fletcher

The group is mentioned in the ITV1 soap this week by characters David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) and Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
Platt attempts to win back his girlfriend's affections by buying her tickets to watch Liam Fray's band live. However, the pair split up shortly afterwards when Tina discovers that David has been hacking her emails.
Commenting on the reference, frontman Fray told NME: "Corrie is real institution, isn't it? So we're proud to get a mention in it, proper impressed.
"I just wish they'd bring the ghost of Ivy Tilsley back."
