Jackie Evancho signs record deal

The 10-year-old soprano shot to fame when she was discovered via the YouTube auditions on the most-recent season of the NBC competition. She went on to finish runner-up to blues singer Michael Grimm.
She has now signed with Syco/Columbia Records to release an album.
"It's already been an amazing journey for Jackie and we are so proud of and happy for her," said her parents Mike and Lisa Evancho.
"Everyone at Syco/Columbia shares our excitement about her future and we are pleased and honoured to be working with such a great music company."
Rob Stringer, the chairman of Columbia/Epic Label Group, added that Evancho has "a rare and precious talent" and the firm is "excited to help develop that talent in her future recording career".
