Leighton Meester 'not rushing debut LP'

Leighton Meester has suggested that she will not rush to finish work on her forthcoming debut LP Love Is A Drug.

In an interview with MTV News, the Gossip Girl star declared that she is looking forward to continuing work on the album next year.

"I don't know [when it will be released]," she said. "I recorded three songs recently. I have, like, 20 more to do. So I don't know when that's going to happen."

The actress added: "I just really want it to be perfect. I'm not in any rush. It's all in my heart, and I'm really happy how it's going."

Meester previously scored a top ten US hit in 2009 when she collaborated with Cobra Starship on 'Good Girls Go Bad'.

Earlier this week, the star revealed that she is looking forward to spending a quiet Christmas in Florida.
