The Lady GaGa producer, who worked in the studio with Lambert last week, confirmed to The Los Angeles Times that he will pen six songs for the American Idol runner-up.
He said: "I want to go rock - David Bowie and Queen, but make it more easy for people to get. It has to be rock, but with an interesting dance angle to it, you know?"
The Swedish-Moroccan star indicated that not all of the tracks will make the final cut, while he plans to create a "signature sound" for the 27-year-old.
Red One added: "You can go almost whatever direction with him. People know him from being on American Idol, singing other people's songs, but you can take him in a new direction, and this will be the first time you hear Adam Lambert with his signature.
"My goal is to get his signature out from him to the world."
Lambert's first record is scheduled for release through RCA Records in the autumn.
