Lambert: 'Album is kind of a fusion thing'

Last month, the American Idol runner-up teamed up with Lady GaGa producer Red One to work on six tracks for the LP, following the 27-year-old's record deal with RCA Recordings and 19 Entertainment.
Lambert confirmed that he has also enlisted Kelly Clarkson's writer-producer Greg Wells, Christina Aguilera collaborator Linda Perry and One Republic frontman Teddy Wells to help him keep the mixture of his music eclectic, MTV reports.
He said: "It's kind of taking the best parts of music from the '70s, like the classic rock era, and trying to somehow fuse it with modern, dancier, electronic production. It's kind of a fusion thing.
"It goes back and forth. There's some ballads, there's some uptempo, there's some songs that are a little bit more straightforward, current pop. There are some songs that are more dance; there are some songs that are straight rock."
It was reported last month that Lambert had hinted at a possible collaboration with Idol winner Kris Allen.
Lambert's as-yet-untitled debut record is scheduled for release in the autumn.
