The 'Before He Cheats' singer received the honour from her birthplace of Muskogee, Oklahoma and will be present for the September 17 ceremony, People reports.
The 26-year-old was raised on her parents' farm in the town of Checotah and graduated with a communications degree from Northeastern State University before her rise to fame.
Underwood joins previous inductees The All American Rejects, Toby Keith, Vince Gill and Merle Haggard. The 2005 American Idol winner was recently the first female since 2001 to win the Academy of Country Music Award for entertainer of the year, while she has also picked up four Grammys.
Underwood's third album will be released this autumn.
