The former singer told On-Air With Ryan Seacrest that the X Factor, American Idol and Britain's Got Talent panellist wrongly thought that the '90s girl group would be a failure.
Beckham said: "He is the only man in the music industry who turned down the Spice Girls and said we would never work."
The Spice Girls initially signed with Simon Fuller of 19 Management and went on to sell an estimated 55 million albums and have nine number one UK singles.
Beckham is currently filming a guest appearance with Cowell on the upcoming series of American Idol and has said that she is looking forward to "a bit of banter" with the music mogul.
