Lauren Alaina has said that the track written for her debut album by fellow American Idol alum Carrie Underwood "means a lot" to her.
Underwood, who performed with Alaina on the American Idol finale in May, co-wrote a song called 'Eighteen Inches' for Alaina's debut record Wildflower, which is available now.

Alaina told The Hollywood Reporter: "Carrie Underwood has been a huge influence on who I am. She started out the same way I did, and she is someone that I look up to so much."
Alaina, 16, went on to say that 'Eighteen Inches' reminds her of a friend called Taylor, claiming that the track could have been written about her.
"[She] is married - her husband is going to college - and has a baby. I give her so much credit for that. She made the best decision she could for her family, and I'm so proud of her," she said.
"That song sounds like it was written about her and I just love it. It means a lot to me. And Carrie Underwood wrote it!"

Wildflower also includes a track called 'Funny Thing About Love' which was written by Alaina and songwriters Brett James and Luke Laird.
"I'm really proud of 'Funny Thing About Love' because I wrote it and it made the record," she said. "It's really awesome that I got to have that experience."
Wildflower also features Alaina's debut single 'Like My Mother Does', which she premiered during the American Idol season ten finale where she finished runner-up to Scotty McCreery.
Alaina was joined at the finale by Underwood for a performance of the latter's hit 'Before He Cheats', and later described the experience of performing alongside her "idol" as a "dream come true".
