'Idol' Haley Reinhart reacts to being released from Interscope deal

By
Former American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart has responded to being released from her Interscope record deal.

The Illinois native exited the label along with more than 60 other acts in November, following the inability of her first studio album Listen Up to crack the US Top 10.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reinhart acknowledged that her departure from Interscope was quite stunning to her.

"I was more shocked than anything when I heard they were letting go of maybe 65 acts," she admitted. "I definitely want to be an artist that is being heard all the time, but they had a lot going on there and had to change things up, so I have to respect that."

The singer added: "I'll find another great home."

Reinhart will apparently be returning to the studio in 2013, in addition to appearing on the upcoming NBC series Real Music Live on January 5 following Saturday Night Live.

"It will be good to get back on the telly," she declared. "I will keep doing what I do and working my butt off. Good things will come, I'm sure."

The 22-year-old competed on American Idol in season 10, ultimately finishing in third place.
