'Idol' champ breaks US chart record
American Idol champion David Cook has smashed the record for the most new entries on the US singles chart.

Cook placed no fewer than eleven tracks on this week's Billboard Hot 100, led by his Idol victory song, 'The Time Of My Life', at three.

The previous new entries record was held by Miley Cyrus, who scored six Hot 100 debuts in November 2006.

Elsewhere, rapper Lil Wayne continues to reign over the chart with 'Lollipop', while Leona Lewis sticks at two with 'Bleeding Love'.

'Viva La Vida', the title track from Coldplay's forthcoming album, zooms from 41 to ten thanks to strong download sales.
