Maroon 5 & Rihanna: 'If I Never See Your Face Again'
Is there anything Rihanna can't do? The R&B queen scored the biggest hit of 2007 with a song called 'Umbrella', while her repackaged Good Girl Gone Bad album somehow avoids sounding like a record company cash-in thanks to the addition of some cracking new tracks. Now, attempting to push her powers to the limit, Maroon 5 have asked her to add some sexual spark to their new single.

Unfortunately, this is a step too far even for Rihanna. Her silky tones clash horribly with Adam Levine's shrill falsetto, and the sexual chemistry radar for the pairing registers at zero. Maroon 5's usual radio-friendly rock-lite has been given a sprucing up with some jagged synths and buzzing guitars, but it's not enough to rescue the track, which should never have left the recording studio.

i must say most of theses ds are completely wrong!!!!! this track is fabulous. theses ds reviewers are rude and deaf because clearly most of the time they don't know good music.

i think the song will be a summer hit...to the dismay of alex fletcher. the video is hot too.

Love the version on the album, but don't think the addition of Rihanna was necessary and adds nothing to the song. However, saying the song "should never have left the recording studio" is a bit harsh. There's a difference between constructive critique and downright b*tchyness and yet again the author hasn't grasped that....

The song is fantastic, I love it, it was great on Maroon 5's album and is even better with Rihanna on it.

I have never disagreed with a DS review untill now. This song is much better than half the crap coming out these days, are you becoming deaf?

Overall I think it's bit harsh, because I think it's okay track, but I do think just like with rapper Timberland, we on verge of Rihanna overload. Sometimes having too much of a good thing can be as bad as something rubbish.

What a surprise, another negative review. This is a rather good track. The original version pales into insignificance when you hear this new version. I doubt it will get to number one, but it's a good track nonetheless

It's rubbish. It's hard to argue otherwise. Rihanna's overexposure continues and it's quite frankly boring. Yes this song definitely jars. Nothing is right about it.

Oh, look who's reviewing.... good old Alex who doesn't know his music very well at all. This is a brilliant song Alex, their voices go pretty well I'd say and it's a great tune altogether. Deserves to be a hit.

This is one of the best songs coming out at the momoment. It sounds fresh, funky. The vocals blend well and it has a fell good tone to it.

Not as good as the original, but still a fabulous summer song and deserves to be a hit. Totally disagree with the reviewer!
