Busta Rhymes ft. Linkin Park: 'We Made It'
When Aerosmith hooked up with hip-hop stars Run DMC for a re-working of 'Walk This Way' in 1986, the combination of rap and rock sounded revolutionary. Sadly, the genre was dealt a cruel blow in the late nineties and early noughties, with the likes of Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit twisting it into the unpleasant musical mess that came to be known as nu-metal.

In the safety of 2008, thankfully, Fred Durst's musical antics seem like a distant dream. Unfortunately, Linkin Park and Busta Rhymes have felt it necessary to add one final nail to the rap/rock coffin. Busta hurls out his lyrics with his usual machine gun speed - and Linkin Park are their usual angsty selves - but together they just sound awkward and uncomfortable. 'We Made It' would have sold bucket-loads a decade ago, but now it just sounds tired and dreadfully predictable.

as a huge fan of Linkin Park....I feel they should step away from the rap roots and leave this to Mike Shinoda's alter ego Fort Minor. Busta Ryhmes verses sound terrible and to be honest I can;t stand the way he raps. The chorus is ridicously over produced to the poin they have drained all life out of the backing to the point where they replaced rob bourden's live drums with programmed drums. and the guitars have been put really low in the mix. To be honesty....it would of been better to see this song as a Linkin Park's own and with Don gilmore producing it. Waste of good music on a rapper who really didn't deserve it.

I thought the song was dreadful. The lyrics were narcisstic and self indulgent, not what Linkin Park are about. The piano is catchy, but that is the only good bit. Busta Rhymes makes it perfectly clear that he thinks of himself as a man made, god-like symbol of success, which doesn't in my opinion make for a good song.

I have to say that Linkin Park sound like nothing more than a cheap boyband in this song. Buster also sounds a bit odd, putting on a strange effected voice for one verse that sounds more like Apollo Creed than his usual self.
