Singer James Allan's Glaswegian brogue is the band's selling point, as he manages to capture bitterness and optimism in the same breath. The track's tale of a social worker who gives up her career to follow a band may be a little unusual, but it would take a cold-hearted soul not to be moved by Allan's final rallying cry: "I'll be the angel on your shoulder,
my name is Geraldine, I'm your social worker." Never has listening to a gloomy Scotsman felt quite so beautiful.

AMAZING, best new band this decade, james allan is an excellent writer and is passionate which for me is very important. its a shame they've released it so early because it deserves no.1 status. counting the days till the album comes out

I heard this song while I drove my car last week and kept turning it up. There's a magical harmony that grabbed me from go and felt like something special the instant I heard it. A Gloomy Scotsman Allan might be, but this song is as transcendant for me as it obviously is for him. Authenticity bubbles to the top here.
