Ting Tings: 'Shut Up And Let Me Go'

They may have an incredibly dumb name, but the Ting Tings are doing something very clever at the moment. They're releasing big, catchy singles that nearly lots of people will grow to love - recent No.1 'That's Not My Name' gets played at G-A-Y and on Xfm - without putting off the indie kids. Chris Martin must be well and truly baffled.

'Shut Up And Let Me Go', the brilliant disco tune from the iTunes ad, shows why they can pull off this nifty balancing act. It's so infectious it should probably be put in quarantine before being allowed to go abroad, but there's enough spiky attitude here to please the cool crowd. The star of the show, once again, is singer Katie White, who comes off like Debbie Harry with PMS, but in a good way. No-one would dare to call her Stay-cee any more.
