Kid Rock: 'All Summer Long'

So, how has Kid Rock fashioned this inescapable summer smash? Well, he's nicked the piano chords from 'Werewolves of London' by cult US rocker Warren Zevon, shoved some fairly ropey lyrics about teen romance/smoking weed/making love by a lake over the top and chucked in a sample from 'Sweet Home Alabama' for good measure. Which bit? You know the bit. No one's pretending this is a masterpiece, or even especially good, but just you try not to bob your head along when the sun comes out.

This song is terrible. I can't believe it was number two on Vh1's top 40 songs of 2008! David Archuleta is 1,000 x better than this crap! Kid Rock sucks greasy balls!

Kid Rock is so talented rofl, i love the way he rhymes 'things' with 'things' such endless talent from a merchant of others successes. HAHA what a loser and an awful song. The word travesty comes to mind.

Aw! Leave Kid Rock alone and let the man do his thing. Critic all you want but you will never break the man. He already has 10 steps to your 1. I happen to love Kid Rock and I bob my head to his music when the sun comes out each morning what a glorious wake up. It gets blood flowing. Again try it sometimes you may just like it to much. Or would like I to come and bob my head down on you when the sun comes out. Be happy and spread the positive. Live and let your guard down times too short to be all uptight and bitching. Have bobblehead day.

The video is shot in Tennesee, but was picked as a location because it reminden KR of home in Michigan. The video was shot early this spring (march/april) and its just too damn cold in MI then... My rating is of the song, not the article.. but I like the article too.. Rock on Bobby, my Michigan Brother!!

This song is as good as it gets; a true classic. It's simple, incorporates samples of two timeless American tracks, and it talks about those youthful American days that most of us can relate to and will share forever. I was SHOCKED when I found out this was Kid Rock after hearing it on the radio.

This is a travesty. Warren Zevon and Ronnie Van Zandt will be rolling in their graves all summer long if you ask me.

It is annoying. What you are expecting to come in the chorus neer quite makes it, and to be fair, everything about it sucks.

A great summer tune. The previous comment about Kid's song-writing ability is misplaced and is based on two songs in an 8 album (so far) career. Kid Rock is a great artist and this is a great song. Not his best either, by a long way! If you like it, get the album which is just class.

word or warning, try and cover your ears if they say that they are playing this song on the radio. i heard it and I seriously hated every minute of it and thought that it took all the energy away from the original songs that he has stolen.....tell me when did kid rock every write his own backing music.....is the anwser NEVER?! i think it might well be.
