Kylie: 'The One'

Kylie's comeback album so disappointed the majority of pop fans that gay mag Attitude, traditionally one of her staunchest supporters, recently ran an article titled 'What's gone wrong with Kylie?' It would have scarcely have been more surprising to find a feature called '10 Things We Hate About Lizzie Windsor' in the latest edition of Insight, the official rag of the Royal Family.

But listening to 'The One', single number four from X, you'd never guess that anything was wrong in Kylieworld. This glittery, shimmering techno-pop beauty suits Minogue perfectly, and she responds by investing it with one of her better vocal performances, managing to sound angelic and lusty at exactly the same time. It won't be enough to save X, but 'The One' is a neat reminder that almost nobody beats Kylie when she's on top form.
