If this was the 1st single from X things would have been totally different. This is what her fans wanted to here.. Love you Kylie x

This is amazing song! Love the video too.

X has now sold over 1 million copies worldwide so to call it a flop is unjustified. The One is an awesome track, not so keen on the Freemasons Remix, it seems they've taken the sparkle out of the original and replaced it with a beat. But still one of the best songs on the album. Such a shame her record company have screwed this release up. No promotion, no physical copy, no video until way too late. They should be ashamed fopr screwing up what was a sure fire hit.

X is a really terrible, i dont really like any of the songs on it. She tries sooooo hard to sound sexy but if you listen very carefully her backing singings do most of the work!!! Over rated and over here !!!!

Love this song the extra long remix is fab but I can't get it anywhere not even to down load. It's a massive shame the music industry is turning it's back on physical singles, most shops don't even stock them anymore. (HMV missing an opportunity here, only thing to keep people going to a physical shop, not stocked!) Back to kylie she has experimented with this album and it has ended up being eclectic but balanced, it's not my favourite K album, but IP is hard to beat as a complete work, fever was comercial but i doin't find my self listening to it like I do X. I'm hoping for a Stronger therme for the next album(s), kylie jazz, kylie rock, kylie club, kylie classical, kylie retro, kylie disco, kylie soul, kylie chilled, etc, etc.

Superb single from a superb album. Just come back from seeing her at the O2 and it was pure quality - dirty beats, dirty Kylie, I love you
Dave, Bham on July 29th, 2008
Rated it a 5 based on the song itself, which is clearly the best upbeat song from X...Agree with the comments about this album and the singles releaed...so i should have rated it a zero for having no video, no support, no record company push or promo and the whole lazy attitude that both Ms M And emi have taken to this whole X Project....Ms M Release a video for "The One" Low Budget or not. I Fink your fans deserve that at least... And Leave Parolphone...Join Universal or SYCO... xxx

I like 'The one' but I prefered 'Speakerphone' :) I was sad when I watched 'Wow' video because I expected more, well..she can do it better with 'The one' if she wants to..

Another amazing song from Kylie's 'X' album. It is such a shame The One is getting no physical release. As the release would have coincided with her European tour it could have definitely been a strong contender for the #1 spot in many countires.
Nick, Bournemouth on July 25th, 2008
A standout on a totally underrated album, Kylie's best since Light Years. I totally agree that the Freemasons mix is superior to the album cut, but the simplicity of this tune, makes even the original sound beautifully haunting. Unfortunately this looks destined to be a download only which is a travesty - the record company have done as they often do, and released the right singles in the wrong order. had they released Wow first, followed by The One, In Your Arms and 2 Hearts, I think X would have received a better commercial reception, and prevented supermarkets from selling it at budget prices within months of it's release.

'The One' is a great track, from a fantastic album, especially the Freemasons remix. Why oh why isn't it getting a full release and full-on promotion. It could have been the summer anthem of 2008, twenty years after 'I Should Be So Lucky' hit the Number 1 spot! I also don't understand the criticism 'X' has got from some quarters. It is not quite 'Fever', but far better than 'Light Years' and 'Body Language'. My favourite track is 'Wow!'. 'Like A Drug', 'No More Rain', 'Sensitized', 'In My Arms' and 'Stars' are fantastic tracks to. Considering everything Kylie went through, it is a very good song from an excellent album.

Can i just say, i saw this goddess on Friday night in Manchester and she was awesome!!! she played to a packed out arena and was truly stunning. This woman is amazing and is more of a star than most of this stuck up popstars. Madge, PAH!!! Kylie is the queen of pop. Madonna you ain't even in the same league!!!
Stevo, Manchester on July 19th, 2008
As I discussed on Rubbishgays during the release of Body Language the reasons for this are clear. Home Downloading Is Killing Kylie. We gays are a savy bunch, besides there are other vital uses for our pink pounds. The price of fags these days is shocking!
Matthew, London on July 17th, 2008
I am devasted to hear no video,no c.d. what is going on? I love this song and think it is a wasted opportunity, one of Kylie's best tracks ever, one which seems to be adored by her fans is being sidelined! Pathetic. I hope Kylie will have a shake up of her creative team and sort things out, she deserves better.

Aidan, TARDIS on July 17th, 2008
I don't know what these dissenters are blathering on about. 'X' is a fabulous collection, superior in my opinion to 'Body Language'. As for comparisons to 'Light Years' or 'Fever', well, they're different animals, aren't they? I think people too easily dismiss Kylie as 'dance pop' when her sound is actually quite diverse. 'X' is eclectic and fabulous. 'The One' is a great track, but I believe 'Like a Drug' surpasses it. And where's the love for 'Speakerphone' and 'Sensitized'? Those are brilliant songs! God forbid someone try something new and evolve their sound if their name isn't Madonna, who's made the sinful error of growing *gasp* old. I guess Madge and Kylie should be locked away in a home somewhere swapping dentures while 'superlative talents' like Rihanna and Miley Cyrus accede to their oh-so-deserved thrones. *vomits*

Mr Pink, Birmingham on July 16th, 2008
GO look at the hmv website and youll see this ISNT getting released AT ALL...COMPLETE TRAVESTY, the freemasons mixes are amazing too. Im lucky to have them but shes left Parlophone now so theres no need for them to release it...just all a shame!
David, Middlesbrough on July 16th, 2008
'The One' is by far one of the better tracks from X and should have been released sooner, though I do think it has quite a summer feel to it and will be a fab holiday song! Some of the songs that didn't make the album like 'Magnetic Electric' and 'Fall for You' are more memorable than some of the ones that did. It's still a great album regardless of all the bad comments.
Marco, Sydney on July 16th, 2008
The album is great for me better than fever nearly as good as impossible princess.Heard a new album might be released late next year, she does look like she is going in the right direction though. The One could've been no.1 with a vid.
Steve, York on July 16th, 2008
Sorry QB but loads of empty seats when you went to see her? That's complete crap, the tour is a SELL OUT which means no empty seats. The fact you didn't like when millions of others do says more about your lack of taste than anything else. Fantastic song, fantastic album. Simple as!!!!
Rob, Leicester on July 15th, 2008
What an absolute travesty that this song isn't getting the release it deserves. One of the best things she's done in years. What a blinkin shame.
Mickey, London on July 15th, 2008
attitude - the same magazine that slated her IP album only to eat their words later by saying how well it is - lets not forget X is a great album with diverse sounds and great lyrics - the one is a great single but agree it should have been the first not fourth single.
Ian, Worcestershire on July 15th, 2008
I think this song is fantastic. I really do not understand some of the comments written about the album X. The main review says that "The One" is not enough to save the album. What are you takin about? X MAY HAVE NOT SOLD AS WELL AS FEVER BUT ITS SOLD A HELL OF A LOT. It was in the charts for over 6 months and still is selling. i feel its just a brillant pop record and classic kylie. i just do not get it. her tour to support x has sold better than her last tours and they were gigantic hits.

Paul, Manchester on July 15th, 2008
I think Elle's comment's are on the ball. Parlophone (and EMI in general) are now cutting back on the production and release of CD singles and vinyl....which I think is a shame. I'd also like to buy a physical release on Cd and Picture disc 12" vinyl if possible, and think that this continual costcutting by EMI shows that the current management don't respect the wishes of the consumer and are far too concerned with making as much profit as possible. I also think that the A&R lead (no names but he initials MC may ring a bell...?) at Parlophone has had his day and needs to move on and quick. As does Kylie - go see Live Nation, girl - they'd welcome you with open arms AND value you (and your fans!!) AND - She was fantastic in concert last night!!

Elle, Hampshire on July 15th, 2008
It's just a crying shame that Parlophone (her label) have chosen to only release this as a download single, hence missing out on a huge opportunity with this track. As a fan of 21 years I like to buy the physical formats, I don't want to be buying a tacky download, which is never really part of my collection, it's simply an audio file which could easily be accidently deleted. I like to look at and physically buy the single formats. I think not releasing this single as a physical format is one of the biggest mistakes Kylie and her label Parlophone have made.
Chris, Bristol on July 15th, 2008
'The One' is ace, certainly a classic in the lovely Kylie's back catalogue in my opinion!
QB on July 15th, 2008
Went to see her in concert the other night - what a let down - loads of empty seats too.
Paul, Manchester on July 15th, 2008
"X" might not have been "Fever", but come on it's full of great tracks (At least 10 out of 13!) I think it will be another "Kylie Minogue 1994" album, that gets better with time. You will listen back and apprecaite it! As always Kylie is ahead of the game. "The One" is a great single, love it...Still think she could have done a double A-Side with "Like a Drug" or "All I See" though... Kylie rocks!!!!!!
Ian, Bristol on July 15th, 2008
The best song on the 'X' album with 'Like a Drug' coming a very close second. This should have been released as the lead single. A fantastic feel good track, love hearing on the radio, gets a fantastic reaction on the dancefloor. Pure pop perfection, Brilliant.
Grahame Robertson, Manchester on July 15th, 2008
The last gasp from a dismally marketed album. Seriously, why is she surrounding herself with such a laughably misguided creative team? There were (just) enough good tracks on 'X' to give the impression that it was a decent album, but as usual they release the dregs first and leave the only standout track until last. Pitiful. Poor Kylie.
Lee, York on July 15th, 2008
Sorry but 'X' wasn't a flop album, it got into the top 4 when it was released and got loads of fantastic reviews. I agree it wasn't the most successful album she has released but to make out it was a flop is rubbish. This song is awesome, one of my favourites and it's pure Kylie. She is more successful than ever as her sell out 'X' tour proves. She's filling stadiums all over the world, one thing madge can't manage these days. Kylie is the queen of pop or more popular and successful than Granny madge.
NAUGHTYNICK, Ronaldo's house on July 14th, 2008
I like this song funnily enough, i dont really like the album entirely, part of it are ok but this song stands out. Still its no Madge!
Jon, Liverpool on July 14th, 2008
It's like I Believe In You, pt 2. Which is good! Fabulous song, she sounds lovely on it and it's my favourite on the album (after Like A Drug).
John, Birmingham on July 14th, 2008
Much of Kylie's music would be better if she weren't on it. Maybe she could just be a dancer in the videos? Oh, wait, I just realised. In that case, it's fine.
Malcolm, Teesside on July 14th, 2008
The ablum has grown on me, and this is my favourite song from it. When I first heard it I turned to my best friend and said "It sounds like falling in love". Brava Kylie!
Jack, Bristol on July 14th, 2008
She just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER!! Can't wait for this to be released now! :o)
James, London on July 14th, 2008
It's a wonderful song, and why the record label haven't bothered with a video, or made it chart ineligable is beyond me! Should have been the lead single, it's that good, not single number 4. Oh well!!! Enjoy!!!!
Paul Young, Pembrokeshire on July 14th, 2008
Without a doubt the best song on X, and possibly her best since Can't Get You Out Of My Head. Simple, beautiful and delicate whilst still being euphoric and anthemic. The final chorus is absolutely epic. Pity it isn't enough to save the album. I must say, the remix takes away a lot of these qualities and makes it quite generic. Thankfully, most radio stations seem to be going for the album version.
Ian, London on July 14th, 2008
Best track off the album, but EVEN better is the Freemasons own Club Mix. Much beefier and one of Kylies best ever remixes.
QB on July 14th, 2008
The problem with Kylie is that all her songs sound the same - this track starts off well but goes nowhere.
