Scouting For Girls: 'It's Not About You'

It's almost too easy to take a pop at Scouting For Girls. Their trio of top ten hits, 'Elvis Ain't Dead', 'Heartbeat' and 'She's So Luv-ver-ley', were simplistic, repetitive and as filled with inspiration as the average ham sandwich. But, in their favour, they had choruses catchy enough to persuade half a million people to fork out £7.99 for the group's debut album.

'It's Not About You', the fourth single from the album, is pretty similar to what came before it: a simplistic, repetitive pop song that won't change your view of the world, pop music or the band themselves. Sadly, this time around the chorus isn't especially catchy, which means that Scouting For Girls no longer sound like peddlers of slight but effective pop fare; they just sound moronic.
